What is a Surgery?

Informal gatherings of people who want to share, communicate, campaign or collaborate to promote Arts in Hall Green Constituency. Surgeries are deliberately relaxed. No presentations, no jargon, no one telling people what they think they should know.

Instead you will meet people who will listen to what you want to do, discuss any problems or issues you want to raise, and share their experience to help you.

Are there any surgeons?

Well, no, not really. Just people who know enough to help someone else. In our constituency there are many arts practitioners and organisations willing to share their experience. It may be that you are expert in one aspect of your practice but interested to learn (patient?) in other areas. The surgeries are reliant on individuals willing to put themselves forward to help - working together we can help each other to promote arts.

How will we set up surgeries?

We will identify venues across Hall Green Constituency interested in hosting surgeries. Hall Green Arts Coordinator will work with the host venue to organise and welcome everyone during the surgery. We began surgeries in June 2012.
